THE TIME TUNNEL
I've always been fascinated with time travelling whether if be past or future
Therefore one of my favorite TV shows was The Time Tunnel
Fav actor on the show was James 'Moondoggie' Darren
The show first aired in 1966
There were only 30 episodes made by Irwin Allen and associates

The plethora of English Comedy to Choose from.......
1 Dad's Army. "Ready Mr Mainwairing"
2 Open All Hours. "Gr Gr Gr Gr Granvi vi vi lllle"
3 Porridge. "Godber, pass the toilet roll, that's a good lad"
4 Minder. "G&T thanks Dave"
5 The Two Ronnies.
"Shirley Bassey has just had a new single come out. One of the straps on her dress broke"
Ronnie Barker was a genius.
...so many shows, so many times I cacked my pants!

It's funny, I reckon some of the old comedies still stack and I laugh at them, some not so much.Scrappy wrote:Chambo, you forgot these 2 UK comedys

I find those that are almost slapstick like "On the Buses" and the "Carry On" series are a bit dated, given much of the humour is on the bawdy side.
However, I still find those in the above list worth watching and still laugh 40 years later in some cases. I think the humour based on the British taking the p!ss out of themselves is the funniest. That is something the Americans cannot do, and their copycat comedy series based on the English humour doesn't work so well.
One of those is "The Office". Although the US series has probably been more successful than the original English series. But just isn't the same for mine.
Another English one that I loved was a more recent comedy series called "Coupling" on the ABC. Came out in the mid-2000s. Basically an English copycat version of "Friends", but was quite a bit different in how it was produced, the feel of the show and the type of humour. Absolutely cried watching that show that went for 4 series. Got them all on DVD and still go back and cack myself over them.

If you like British Comedys you need to give "Gavin & Stacey" a go Chambo.
Not shown widely in Australia, but some friends got my wife and I onto it and it's hilarious! Rob Briden is a cack in it. They made 3 series.

GET SMART
I give Get Smart 99 out of a hundred
Don Adams is a scream
It was funny and also a shade ahead of its time with all the secret agent gizmos
When I think Get Smart , I can visualise Don Adams talking to the chief on his shoe telephone.

Re: Best TV Shows of All Time
FROM "COUPLING"
The premise is that Steve, Jeff and Patrick are mates and enjoy a drink in a pub. Their converstations invariably are about women and their ability to attract them...
Steve Taylor: There are times I worry about the way you see women.
Jeff: I see women as people in their own right.
Patrick Maitland: In many ways, they *are*.
Steve Taylor: You see women as transport for breasts!
Jeff: Hey, I can see past breasts now, Steve. I need more than that.
Steve Taylor: Yeah, I can tell.
Jeff: I need breasts with brains. I don't mean *individual* brains, obviously. I think breast brains would be over-egging the woman pudding. Besides, you give breasts the power of independent thought, and the next thing is, they don't get on. There's a clash of personalities.
Jeff: Do you know what would be the best way to wipe out all of human kind if you were a space alien with a special kind of mind ray...? Make all women telepathic. Because if they suddenly found out about the kind of stuff that goes on in our heads they would kill us all on the spot. Men are not people - we are disgustoids in human form.
Steve: [to Jeff] When you say things like nudity buffer, you actually expect people to know what you mean?
Jeff: Alright, when you first see a woman you like you have a buffer of about five minutes before you have fully mapped out what she looks like naked.
Patrick: A full five?
Jeff: You have to asses her nipple type and that takes time.
Patrick: Oh yeah good point.
If this all sounds a bit sexist, the show also has 3 girls, Sally, Susan and Jane.
They talk about the same stuff over a bottle of wine from their perspective. And when the boys get together with the girls for some cross-pollinating it gets very funny.

THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY
A favorite of mine for a few reasons
Shirley Jones the beautiful looking mother
Susan Dey , that gorgeous gorgeous, gorgeous young girl
David Cassidy , the excellent singer, who had a hairstyle I tried to copy and Cherish
The show was launched in 1970 and ran until 1974
My interest in the show came about after the Partridge family produced their smash hit I Think I Love You , a tune that lots of kids of the time would hum, including me.
The show was probably mostly about the pretty boy singing heartthrob David Cassidy
Cassidy is 63 years old now and recently made the media with a misdemeanor
Cassidy, driving, was pulled over by a policeman , and breath tested
Heard this on the radio today :
He saw the police mans name tag, the coppers name was Tom Jones!
Cassidy said "Whats New Pussycat."
Ahem ....
Cassidy was over the limit and was subsequently arrested for DUI

What was the Copper's retort?
Maybe....
"Well It's not unusual, we'll have to so a drug test now to make sure you're not on the Green green grass of home."
