I really hate the last few days of work before you go on holiday.

Everything is up to date, so apart from a bit of EOY stuff I'm set to twidde my thumbs and watching the clock until Friday 5pm.

And then when you return, there's a pile of work nobody bothered to do for you when you were away. By the time you catch up, it's time for another holiday.

We're going over to the Yorke Peninsula for a week with my extended family (mum/dad, brothers & partners + new little nephew).

Nice Ginge. Coobowie pub does great schnitty's. Vincent pub has great views. Ardrossan bakery the best pepper pies. Kiplings bakery at Wakefield the best cornish pasties.

Cheers mate, will take a look. Staying in Stansbury so pretty central, can see us going for a few drives.

Hopefully we get a chance to throw a line in and sort out a fresh feed also!

Surely a stop at Wallaroo (new) indoor bowling green is on the cards as well?

My old man is a chef too, so I'm sure he'll be keen to work his magic in the kitchen.

Still needing the heating on in July...never had to do that before
I'm not being a wuss either cos all local friends have had to as well.

Never liked the term 'global warming' cos it's never meant that the whole planet would get warmer. Only certain regions will get hotter, sunnier weather other parts will get cooler and wetter. But I guess the media idiots prefer it cos it sounds a bit more apocolyptic than 'climate change'.

Our current run of non-summers is due to the jet stream shifting south...

Origin Energy.

The past couple of weeks they've been attempting to telemarket me (they call me, I'm working, I get missed call from 03 number), but the last few times they've been leaving an automated voicemail saying they'll call back, but I can call them if they want.

I had a feeling it was an attempt to bring a natural gas account across to them (I have LP gas at my place - ironically also with Origin), so I thought, 'ok I'll take the bait and call them'. So I call them, and sure enough it's a natural gas offer.

Shouldn't they already know I have my gas with them from a)my LPG account and b) they were advised of this the last time they tried calling me.

Having a song stuck in my head thanks to CK. And it is not LRB

People who abuse and carry on about Centrelink - I mean I know they can be frustrating - but seriously - stop and think - you're lucky to even have that safety net !!

This gripe prompted by something I just read on facebook.

Have to wait another 3 and a half weeks for Centrelink to process my application so my payment increases. Um, hello? I gave birth nearly a month ago, you ******* slow ass ********

After going through that process A Mum, I share that person's frustration.

Unfortunately due to the few that rort the system, the rest of us are made to jump through hoops to access Centrelink funds.

As usual, the crooks in society ruin things for the rest of us.

Yeah I know - I've had my own frustrations with them in the past, but I suppose it's because I know this person does nothing to help themselves out and expects it.

I don't want to call the above person you mention one, but you reminded me of what I like to call 'Silver Platter People'. The most annoying numbskulls ever.

2 busses shot at on Yatala Vale Rd in the past hour. Be careful if you're travelling in that area
