Port Magpies to play AFL players

TFSA understands that the SANFL is concerned at the Magpies poor performance and will bolster their team by adding any Port AFL players aligned to the bye team that week. Those players would train with the Magpies that week.

The SANFL believes this would also be a good trial of the mooted Reserves side in the SANFL next year.

TFSA feels this should be resisted strongly by the clubs and all supporters should protest strongly.

if it is the magpies reserves, I don't have a problem with it, but if it is league I do. Surely the 8 other clubs need to unite and say no.

That would be outrageous. They're making that call on the back of one result? To introduce something like that at any time creates an uneven playing field, let alone once the season has actually started.
If it's a matter the clubs get to vote on, I can't imagine it will get very far.

well they can have Hitchcock now, as i mentioned in a thread earlier (could even be this thread for all i know) they wont wait for a meeting for a reserves team discussion & one by one will build their own, i feel for blokes like Summerton who will eventually be weeded out

yep, while it is sad traditionally it is time for Port to go & the Power play their reserves in the VFL (same with the Crows) because they have obviously no respect for the competition or the history of it
