Death of Colin Churchett
Sad to hear of the passing of one of Glenelg's great players of the past in Colin churchett at 86 year of age after a long illness.
My father saw him play way back in the fifties and still remembers him as being a freak at kicking goals from anywhere. RIP.

Vale Colin Churchett, thoughts and prayers are with the family.
A tough year with Harry now Colin gone, both legions for our club both on and off the field, both will be missed.

Listening to my Mum rave about him, Colin was a pin-up boy in his glory days for the female members at Glenelg FC, as well having the admiration of the boys being a goal kicking machine.
Even when Mum was in her 50s she used to get a bit flustered when he said hello.
Maybe he was the Tony Modra of his era to the Bay faithful

Colin was an extremely good player and one of the most dangerous forwards of his time.
It's sad for Glenelg and football to lose two such greats of the SANFL so recently.

My mother said exactly the same thing the other day when she heard of his passing. She was a West Torrens supporter many years ago and reckons all females going to the footy way back then thougt he was ok in the looks dept.
