Norwood are coming off a 2 week break, but are coming off a narrow win over Glenelg in their previous match way back on 31 August, while Westies were impressive in dismantling Centrals in the Qualifying Final. Norwood have struggled against West this year, with their round 13 win coming after the siren (after trailing for the entire match) and losing to West in round 21. Will Norwood find a way to kick a winning score, or will West use the confidence of last week's win and their good record against Norwood this season to gain direct passage to the Grand Final.

D-Day for Norwoods game plan on a big oval, which i think might be their achilles heel, if it works for them then West will have to stop Jericho having an impact against his old team, it might come down to who cracks first & we saw yesterday that West did not crack when the blowtorch was put to them, i think West might just get up but another week off for Norwood may be no good for them anyway

As I been told we lead Norwood twice this year at the Final Siren and the First one was Deylight Robbery

Legs to win by 4 goals , a few players will be back from injury who didnt play in the last minor round game these teams played in.

Hartlett has accepted his one match suspension. I haven't.

I really hope that wasn't as a result of him being dobbed in here.

Doubt it R&B, but it did seem to come out much later than the other reports

Norwood has not beaten North in a Grand Final [ lost in 1920,1952,1960]
Norwood has beaten West once [won in 1922 but lost 3 times in 1908,1947,1961]

5RPH were all over it when it happened R&B. West should have appealed, they were feeling extremely benevolent this week it seems.

Unfortunately, Adam hasn't got a great record at the Tribunal, but he stands up for himself when needed

West have lost Hartlett to suspension, and added Thompson, Beech and Fort Caruso to last week's team.

Norwood have omitted Grigg, Stopp, Langford and Thomas and brought in Suckling, Donohue, Terlich, Jericho and Batsanis. So one more to drop out of their squad.

The thing I find most remarkable about that stat is that Norwood and North have only played 3 times in a Grand Final given that Norwood have played in 35 Grand Finals and North 29. They are easily second and third, behind Port of course, in the number of Grand Finals contested.
And I don't expect them to meet in this year's Grand Final either.

Don't think I could cope with that excitement!

Norwood and West have played each other in 2nd Semis on two previous occasions (1929 and 1983). West won both of them.

Based on that conclusive data, I'll have to tip Westies on Sunday.

Since the McIntyre Finals series commenced in 1931, (in fact any final from 1920 onwards) there have only been two lower three quarter time scores in any final:

1988 2nd Semi, Norwood 1.1 Port 9.15
2011 Preliminary, Norwood 1.4 Eagles 5.11

Lowest score of the season is now 2.5 (17)
Equal lowest 2nd Semi Final score under the McIntyre Finals system, along with Norwood in 1988 against Port 10.17.
The only other lower finals score from 1920 onwards is Norths 1.8 (14) in the 1989 Grand Final

Wests lowest score since Round 7 1968; 2.2 (14) vs Port 5.6 (36)

A ferocius game where tackling was the major tactic of the day. Three spectacular marks, one by Willits, the mark of the season by Fisher, and a roman candle type leap from Cachia.

No easy kicks out there today, goals very hard to come by, and fortunately for us, Norwood have earnt a spot in the Grand Final. A lot of players on both sides will be nursing sore spots tonight and I'm hopeful for some good news on Flipper's shoulder.
