First Concert/Gig you ever saw ?
What was the first concert you ever saw and how old were you?
For me, Crowded House supported by The Black Sorrows and Dave Dobban in early 1987 at the Apollo Entertainment Centre. (Not there anymore!)
I was about 13 years old and went with a school mate. Mum (RIP) dropped us outside and my friends Mum picked us up.
Sticks in my memory.

Skyhooks 1975
They came to our high school
First impressions were that they were weirdos
The sound was unique for people living in the seventies
They end up being one of my favorite bands

When I was 17 - Jimmy Barnes, but you know what, I can't remember where it was - somewhere in Adelaide!
My next 2 concerts after that were Jimmy Barnes...lol.
I was from the country - we didn't get to the city much ..

First concert taken to - ABBA, Football Park, 1977. Do have some memories of it, but not a lot.
Would hate to think how many Little River Band concerts I was taken to by Mum as a child. At one concert, at Festival Theatre in around 1978, we were front row, centre, and Glenn Shorrock hoisted me on stage with the band because "he is singing along to every word of the song" (Help Is On Its Way), and I remember this clearly. How loud the band were stuck in my mind at the time.
First concert I went to by myself, no parents - Johnny Diesel and The Injectors, Thebarton Theatre 1988, supported by the Georgia Satellites. Remains one of the best shows I've ever seen, in one of the smokiest, most stifling conditions I can remember. I lost count after 20, how many women were carried out of the arena affected by smoke from the special effects.

I'm not that old Scrappy
Late 70's I was still a wee child..lol.
No - it was after his Cold Chisel days - I have a feeling it might have been somewhere in the city - maybe even the tennis arenas?
Just can't remember
I know the second or third one was at Thebarton Oval - I took my little sister to that one - that was her first concert.

I'm not really proud of this one - but it was Savage Garden @ The Entertainment Centre in 1997(?).
My musical tastes have evolved somewhat since then.

All depends on whether you went alone or with anyone, really.

I went with a couple of mates CK, which makes it even sadder. There were plenty of ladies there though, a definite positive.

Keystone Angels
The first gig I actually 'attended' was in the mid 70s , and funny how things panned out for me
I was a teenager and took my hot French girlfriend there on a date
She insisted on wanting to go there
I was to later find out she had the hots for the drummer at the time
I could have married that gorgeous thing , but we went seperate ways
She went back to France, I stayed in Adelaide
Funny how things work out
Almost a decade later I met a gal , we ended up getting hitched
The irony of it all is that the wife is related to 2 of the members of that Angels band !
As for the concert
I had no conception of who the Keystone Angels were at the time
I didnt even know they were playing that night
I reckon they were loud, and the music was good though

My wife and I saw savage garden as well, they were fantastic.
I think the very first concert I saw was The Bee Gees at the Apollo Stadium which of course no longer exists.
This was in 1971 when they just made a comeback after splitting up a couple of years before. They started to appear on the music charts again with such hits as "Lonely Days", "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" plus others, of course only a few years later they were to become one of the most successful pop groups of all time.

I used to go see them at the Finsbury Hotel most saturdays.

A band that I will always regret never seeing play live, but that concert would have been later than that, AH - the band didn't form until 1973. Leaping Lindner would be a good one to ask this one, but I'd guess that gig was around late 1974 at the earliest.

Saw Skyhooks at the Ausmusic90 at Thebarton Oval in 1990. I was about 16 years old. With Boom Crash Opera, Angry Anderson, The Angels, Roxus and Seven Stoires.
It was around the Jukebox in Siberria era. Still to this day, it is one of the greatest gigs I have ever seen. They really did put on a great show with good music and a bit of comical refief too!

As corny as it may seem, went and saw Willie Nelson at Memorial Drive with 2 identical twins when I was 17 and had just finished year 12.
Now that was a venue.
Have seen Sting, Eurythmics and sat outside INXS at the Drive.
