SANFL Finals Coverage
Now that the SANFL finals are about to commence, the non-regular broadcasters join the coverage.
This year, ABC-TV will cover all finals, as per normal. Neil Cross, Michael Maney, a special comments person, and Chris Kendall on the boundary.
Radio:
5RPH: Dennis Browne, Kym Morgan, with Darryl Smith as special comments.
Life FM: Phil Herden, Doug Oakley, John Nankivell, Phil Aspinall, Don Cooper and a special comments person.
5AA will be there, with a team TBA
ABC Radio, which would normally be Peter Walsh, Matt Clinch with Stephen Williams and Rod Jameson on special comments.
It may be an interesting exercise to listen to all of the coverage options and see how the "irregulars" stack up against the three outlets - ABC-TV, 5RPH and Life FM - that have been there all season.

Seen signing autographs in the second game (not making that up either)
How did listeners/viewers rate the radio and TV coverage of the games? If you heard/watched, post your thoughts.

Re: SANFL Finals Coverage
the 5AA broadcast for the 5 mins i listened to it was just pro-AFL players. Which I guess is their main audience, so I wont be tuning in again.

interesting that, as i didn't see any AFL jumpers playing yesterday....you took 5 minutes, i wouldn't waste my time with stations that don't support it (match day coverage) during the year

I just thought it would be interesting to see how the 5AA broadcast would be like.
The abc radio, do some games during the year, but not as many as the other 2 radio stations and I dont mind the style that they offer.

I listened to an interview with Andrew Collins on 5AA after the game, driving home.
Even allowing for my bias, I thought he gave an outstanding and absorbing account of his ideas about game style and the way footy is now played.
I haven't checked to see if it is podcast, but if I find it, I'll post a link.
Compulsory listening.

I did the same, lasted about 2 minutes. Rowey had no idea of the players and I got really frustrated. Went straight to RPH.

Re: SANFL Finals Coverage
Disappointing to see one of the best SANFL writers in the last few years, Reece Homfray, really slip back this year with a number of things.
Yesterday's article in the Advertiser spoke of how Norwood have prevailed in all three encounters against West this season.
Firstly, they have played four matches - three in the minor round and one in the finals, and secondly, West defeated Norwood in Round 21.
A number of errors appearing in his writing this year has disappointed a number of SANFL followers who know the excellent work he has done for so long.

Agreed ! The AFL bias undertones in the commentary does not interest me.
Some need to do a bit of research before getting on the microphone
