Adelaide vs Gold Coast - 1/9/2012
Well this should really be a flogging. I know GC got over Carlton on the weekend, but this is Adelaide's opportunity to launch themselves at finals on their home deck and declare their intent for the next month of football.
The only discussion point in the lead up to this game really is whether Adelaide will rest anyone or not. I personally think they should go in for the kill. Go in with a full strength line up and make a statement with a merciless slaughter.

lets face facts, if they can't win convincingly this week there is no hope for the rest of the year

Yes, most definitely. They need to win by at least 10 goals I reckon.
They need to approach the game as if finals have started a week early.

The team is:
B: Sam Shaw, Ben Rutten, Michael Doughty
HB: Nathan van Berlo, Daniel Talia, Brent Reilly
C: David Mackay, Scott Thompson, Richard Douglas
HF: Matthew Wright, Taylor Walker, Jared Petrenko
F: Ian Callinan, Kurt Tippett, Jason Porplyzia
FOLLOW: Sam Jacobs, Rory Sloane, Patrick Dangerfield
INT: Matt Jaesnch, Graham Johncock, Aidan Riley, Brodie Smith
EMERG: Tom Lynch, Richard Tambling, Luke Thompson
IN: Matt Jaensch, Rory Sloane
OUT: Luke Brown (omitted), Bernie Vince (knee)
Walker is a possible late withdrawal with some hip soreness apparently. Probably no point risking him - but it is an opportunity for him to kick a bag and go into the finals in top form.
