Michael Doughty Retires Empty Michael Doughty Retires

Post by Gingernuts Wed Aug 22, 2012 10:54 am

Michael Doughty has announced this morning that this season will be his last.

I'm a big fan of Doughty. He has been a favourite 'whipping boy' for the supporter base, but he is the type of workhorse that every side needs in their quest for a premiership.

To face that sort of constant criticism from the supporter base and still play 200+ games is a real credit to the man. As an Adelaide supporter I salute you Mr Doughty, you have been a wonderful servant to the club and I for one have appreciated your efforts over the course of your career.

I hope your teammates can organise the ultimate send off for you in a few weeks time.

Do wonder what his plans are for next season and if a season in the SANFL is in his plans?

i mean this in the nicest possible way, he did very well for a ''good ordinary player'' as Captain Blood would say.....he shows what committment is & what you can get out of it

well done Michael
