Hall of Fame - Include AFL service or not
Re: Hall of Fame - SA or SANFL
Phil, Cooney played League for West.
Did Pavlich play league for the Eagles, too?
It's an interesting question re those players, though, as they haven't (or probably won't) make a significant contribution to SA football, whereas it would seem churlish under any criteria* to deny McLeod, Roo, etc a berth, as they certainly have made that major contribution. The only difference is that they played for the Crows here, instead of playing interstae, but that's probably fairly taken into account when selections are made.
* Unless it's restricted to SANFL, local and country leagues.

Phil, I think all three of Cooney, Pavlich and Gibbs played league before their AFL careers.

Yes, not 100% sure on Pavlich playing league for Eagles, I certainly remember Gibbs for the Bays ane Cooney playing in 2003 GF and ensuring from that effort he would be the #1 pick.
However those contributions of a few junior state games and maybe 20 SANFL league games would not be anywhere near enough to qualify for the HOF

Don't be so sure, McKay isn't very different. 44 SANFL games and a handful of State games.

Pavlich certainly did play league:
1999: 21 games 39 goals 26 behinds
-Club leading goalkicker
-5th on the league goalkicking table
-SANFL team of the year (Interchange)
-State team representative
And at just 17 years of age, too

Adam Cooney played just one season at league level for the Bloods and he had a terrific season, but to me it is hardly a great contribution to the SANFL, playing one season.
Surely as a player there needs to be an entry level in the number of games played in th SANFL to be eligable.
