West improved in 2024, can they improve again and at least knock on the door for a finals berth?

Good additions so far, plus Patrick Wilson likely to be fit.

However, they're starting from a long way behind, but improvement is likely.

Tom Scully delisted, hopefully he’ll go back to West, I’ll presume money comes into it, so can they afford him ?

I'd like to think that if the Bays can afford ex-AFL players like McBean, Bell, Hosie, Reynolds, Gould, J.Lyons, Stretch, Stevens, Allen and Partington, we can afford Scully.

4 of those 10 are Glenelg juniors, with Partington with his transfer fee too Norwood it ended up being a direct swap for Dom Barry, Reynolds had no choice as he to go somewhere with the Port fiasco and for whatever reason he chose Glenelg and I’m so grateful he did

Btw I only asked the question about affordability because a West stalwart said to me “I doubt we can afford him”

My point is they're all players coming off an AFL list who therefore, usually, command a premium. We didn't have one ex-AFL player play for us this year so I'm not sure why anyone would say we can't afford Scully.

Flag, when the bays were down the bottom we could hardly snare any delisted players, our recruiting basically came from the amateur, country or fringe players from other teams, its human nature to go to a club that’s likely to be in the finals than to one which is unlikely to make them, it isn’t fair but it is the reality…do yourself a favour and don’t read any sanfl news on Friday as it’ll only flattened you before the weekend

I believe Tom Scully has agreed to play for West subject to any afl lifeline offered

Good news for West and they are talking to players from other sanfl clubs too
