SA v Vic
It seems even a state game is not beyond being compromised by the timelords at the AFL. This quote is from the AFL website:
"All 18 AFL clubs had the opportunity to put names forward for Saturday's game at Stratarama Stadium in Glenelg ahead of the 2024 Mid-Season Rookie Draft."
Who needs selectors?

Just read the part that Jay Clark says that without being disrespectful the SANFL is a lesser competition than the VFL
Geez I hope we win on Saturday and win well

It was a win but not emphatic.
I thought the sanfl's electronic coverage on the internet was a bit average.
The App said very little about the game in the lead up and I couldn't find any live scores on that platform. The website had a little more perhaps. But I thought they could have made it more upfront.
I guess this game was timed around Gather round, but how you pick a representative side after 1 round is beyond me. The commentators even said the Vics only had 1 training session. Not exactly taking state footy seriously in my opinion.

Would it have been better to play this game in Victoria ?
With no games of AFL in Melbourne and with publicity it mite have attracted a decent crowd ?

Your missing the point as to why they had it in the first place, all afl clubs in Adelaide & therefore all the afl scouts and those associated with their respective franchises were In Adelaide so they can look at who they can draft in the mid season rookie draft
Great post from the SANFL about how many states does it take to beat us ?
Answer “guess we’ll never know”
Whoever put that post up deserves a medal as it was brilliant
I can selfishly say that Victoria which consisted of 3 states kicked 7 goals while the Glenelg players kicked 8 goals between them
I wonder what Jay Clark thinks or says now

Jay Clark maintains that he was quoting Port Adelaide regarding them playing In a lesser league.
If it is such a lesser league, how is it that they haven't won a SANFL flag since 1999.

Really ?
That’s not the way it’s written
However when they have 5 or 6 on the injury list and play 13 top ups, how the hell can the develop players? Will make a separate thread after work

The SANFL had some major technical issues on the day, including the app and live scores.Chambo Off To Work We Go wrote:I thought the sanfl's electronic coverage on the internet was a bit average.

Myself and commentary colleague Tim Saul were sitting back ready to watch the game after calling the NGA curtain raiser and got a last minute call up to commentate the State Game for the SANFL Now stream, again due to technical gliches.
They couldn't get a working feed from Channel 7's callers, so Tim and I were already there, so obliged.
We wouldn't have been able to do it without the wonderful assistance of Channel 7's Jason Bennett, who happily gave us a spare copy of his very comprehensive player notes for both state teams.
