my partner has been getting abused & occasionally physically abused on average 3 times a week for a decade or more, last week he struck their 13 year old daughter, this morning my partner got more abuse & more threats of life & finally she's decided to do something about it, she went to the cop shop & got fobbed off to go to the Magistrates' court tomorrow.......to me this seems completely wrong

what is supposed to happen ?

with today i was at work when she rang me around 9.30am although this started around 7am this morning, she has now blocked his number

but as i asked what is she/we supposed to do ?

I'd suggest speaking to a solicitor bayman (Legal Aid if needs be) to investigate getting an AVO.

You would think this day and age with Abuse being so highly in focus everywhere, that the Police would be somewhat more attuned to the steps to take and advise where to seek help.

Would there be an Abuse help line that at least could direct you to where to seek assistance?
