All over the news in the last 24 hours.
Looks like he's learnt more than how to read spin from Shane Warne.

I hope Cummins get the nod.
Has been as solid a cricketer as we've had and deserves his shot.

If your going to pick Steve Smith you might as well let him captain the team

I know politics and sport shouldn't mix, but the Aussie Cricket team needs to regain the respect of both the nation and international cricket again in terms of their conduct. It has been subject to quite a few incidents they could have done without.
I would proffer that the Australian Captain is second only to the Prime Minister in the respect they would ordinarily command. Although the incumbent PM continues to make this difficult too.
The last 2 captains have now been embroiled in controversy and ultimately blemished the image of the team and Australian Cricket.
Whether all the criticism is fair or not, I think the ACB would be looking to go forward with a new direction and person who will hopefully align that image with our expectations.
I am not sure that Smith is the obvious best captain anyway.
Whilst he is older and more experienced now than when he first assumed the job, some of his decision making was a bit wobbly in my view.
