John Olsen gone

John Olsen has finished as SANFL Commission Chairman.

Not sure that he'll be missed by many.

DES he have an agenda and will he FOSTER some courage among clubs to avoid the BLUES of afl arrogance. Or will he LEG it?

Unfortunately he will dine out in the glory of establishing Adelaide Oval and the related kick on of its success along with stanging the Crows and Power up with all that they wanted and needed.

But at what expense?
As we know a hell of a lot of SANFL coffers to keep the Power going pre-Adelaide Oval.
And in many eyes, selling out the sanfl comp to achieve all of the above.

He famously broke his promise that there would be no AFl in the SANFL.
I think his critics will never forgive him for that.

But given the way the Adelaide media is these days, they will focus on the higher profile activities described above.
As we probably know, to them, anything AFL is more important than the SANFL.

You know the sort of person I would like to see running the SANFL? Someone like Peter Carey.

Bittersweet - Initial reaction was thank God, but then I worried about which other organisation(s) he might end up at. From who I've heard is likely to be his replacement, not sure there'll be much improvement.

When West lakes was sold, the clubs had to battle to get any of the proceeds. The SANFL argument was that if it all went to reduce SANFL debt, the clubs would get bigger dividends from the increased profit.

That hasn't happened yet and I doubt there's been increased profit?

Might become next Federal President of the Liberal Party. Hopefully he can do for them what he did for the SANFL.
