1st Semi Final: Sturt v Centrals - Sunday 10 September @ Adelaide Oval
Sturt v Centrals
Sunday 10 September
Adelaide Oval
12:10pm
Sturt came from nowhere to nearly knock off Port, while Centrals ran away with the win over Norwood. Sturt have won both matches against Centrals this season, but Centrals last loss to date was against Sturt back in late July (and have won 5 on the trot since). Will Centrals keep their winning form going, or will Sturt keep their perfect record against Centrals in 2017 intact.

logic tells me that Sturt should win, however logic doesn't take into account the Central Districts juggernaut of the last few weeks, Central by 12 points

Kyle Presbury offered a 1 match ban for the Dogs.
Was just finding some good form, so a blow for them.

Yes this is going to be tough.
Laird has the Dogs biting hard at the moment.
I don't like making outcome predictions, so I won't.

Final score
Sturt 13.8.86
Central 11.13.79
Central we're very brave yet I felt Sturt were always going to win, I actually thought Roy Laird won the battle in the coaches box

I think Bayman summed it up perfectly. Sturt lead all day, despite the closeness of the final score. All 4 quarters had Sturt starting strong before Centrals fighting back.
Although the season is over for Centrals I couldn't be prouder of how they've played the past 2 months. Since the demolition of Glenelg in round 11, they've lost three times - a debacle at Noarlunga and twice to Sturt where they gave them a good run for their money in both matches. Despite that, no one (not even me) gave them any chance of making finals as late as about 4 weeks ago. To sneak into the 5, win an Elimination Final, and push Sturt all the way in a Semi Final was a tremendous effort by Centrals.

Yes it was a great contest as expected.
Centrals worthy opposition and kept coming back at the Blues in every quarter.
I thought Glenn (#5) was the best forward all day. He was pretty lively in the forward line and reminiscent of another ex-#5, Callinan for the Dogs who was pretty handy in the same way.

Great game, every time Sturt looked to be gaining control Centrals came back hard at them. Burst by Sturt at the start of the last was the difference as Centrals kicked a couple of points in reply.
