Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
My memory of David Cheetham is as a full forward. Anyone?

Dave Cheetham was a full forward who kicked a lot of goals at seconds level but would have only played a handful of league games.

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
Brenton Adcock was a champion. When Mile Coward and Geoff Kingston rated the 40 best footballers of the first century of SANFL football they rated Adcock number 14. These things are subjective and I thought they rated him a little highly but they were both highly respected journalists. To give an idea of how highly they ranked Adcock, they ranked Bagshaw 29, Don Lindner 30 and Neil Kerley somewhere around 35. As I said these things are subjective but I would have Bagshaw and Lindner higber than Adcock.

Agree, 14 for Adcock is just silly, IMO.

Would have thought he was better as a 7 though. Played in flag as No 7 so most would put him there . Ohhhh but not you Chambo. Good on ya mate lol
If you had bothered to follow this thread W, we have been listing players who wore various numbers, some who played a lot of games, some not. There has been various debate on players swapping numbers and which number they played most of their career in.
It is not that easy to research this and I thank all contributors to this thread who have made corrections or provided further background.
I do appreciate it.
However, for your benefit W, as you clearly don't get it, I merely commented that Fraser Evans did wear #16.
Maybe he has been better in #7, but this is the type of thing we have been discussing for 22 pages or so.
I fail to see why you would take offense.

He never won one Lee.
In the time he played the B&F was won by Halbert, Bagshaw, Clarkson, Casey, Short, Schoff and Davies.
A bit of background info.

I agree (re Top 40 thread), he is far too high at a rank of 14.
Regardless who should be above him, Bagshaw just could not be below him. Baggy has 4 B&Fs as does Halbert who didn't even make the list despite a Magarey.

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
Hi foot e times. Have followed posts for years without contributing (am nwd supporter) and loved the discussion, banter, rumours etc between genuine footy supporters regardless of side supported. Love seeing the sanfl discussions and glad to see passion and interest in this 140 year old plus institution of SA footy. Never supported crows and can't go power and am devastated there are reserves sides with top ups in our great comp. Also enjoyed following Chambo, Lee, big Phil, flag 10, southee blueandwhite bayman and many other regulars and irregulars. What prompts me to comment after years is seeing trolling and negative comments from contributer w supporting unnamed side. Unless you require mental help ( if so I apologise) please leave this site to genuine posters. Six months of trolling is enough. Sure love a disagreement, debate etc and really do welcome it but leave the crap behind. The sanfl is under enough threat without internal bickering aimed at genuine followers from within. Anyway, love the thread, site and most obviously the sanfl in general. Now waiting for 14...

Re: Your Best by the Numbers.
Chambo, re Adcock, I'd put Halbert, Bagshaw and Davies well in front of Brenton, with Schoff at about the same level.
Not taking anything away from Adcock as a terrific player over a long period, but the others mentioned were at a different level, IMO.
PS: When we get to No 10, can we make it a 'who was the best No 10, bar Barrie'?
