finals qualification re Cam Ellis-Yolmen Empty finals qualification re Cam Ellis-Yolmen

seeing that Cam played on Friday night & given there is no AFL this week is he allowed to play in the SANFL this week ?

i'm not sure of these rules for just SANFL clubs, let alone for the franchises

Personally i think he should be allowed to play given he was in as a replacement for a suspended player

but what are the rules/laws to this scenario ?

No he's not.

While Adelaide's AFL team is in the finals, any member who played AFL the previous week cannot play for the SANFL team if the AFL team has a bye. Therefore all 22 who played against West Coast are not allowed to play this week.

I disagree about him being allowed to play. Rules are rules. It's crap because CEY was only replacing a suspended player but that's the way the cookie crumbles imo.

unless i was told a fib, he's been given permission to play, i understand rules are rules, yet i remember thinking it was unfair when Lachie McGregor played every game in the reserves, came into a league preliminary final, lost & wasn't allowed to play in the reserves grand final......yes rules are rules but common sense should prevail, it has this year, it didn't in 2009 & why would that be ?

because one is an SANFL club & the other is a franchised ''lets bend over for them at every opportunity'' organization

Just merely making a point that there seems to be two sets of rules

Given CEY has played most of the season in the SANFL I have no issue with him playing Saturday.

If it was Sloane or Smith playing (who technically are eligible playing), I'd be more annoyed about that.
