I think they should be played at Suburban grounds with the highest team gaining the home ground advantage.

No double headers just a game on Saturday and one Sunday ( or fri night , sat night if it works). It would be brilliant and all successful clubs get rewarded financially , even maybe an agreement is made so the "lower " team gets a percentage of revenue.
The time is now as AO games on TV is a very bad look. Imagine a TV game at Glenelg with 6-7 k in there. Or a night game at Norwood . Makes the comp look relevant.

I think at times too much emphasis is placed on spectators and not the players
Home ground finals makes sense, a well deserved home ground reward , for higher ranked teams

However from a spectators view point, suburban grounds might be uncomfortable for some barrackers
I speak mainly of the elderly and incapacitated
BIG crowds might mean standing room only for those who would normally be seated
There are a lot of mature aged long time supporters of clubs that may not go to a suburban ground if they are not seated
Adelaide Oval has everyone comfortably seated

No different to now then.

The lowest crowds were at a suburban ground by a great deal
NW + PA have large suPORTer bases as well
Had NW V PA been at Adelaide Oval I would say the crowd might had been doubled ?

Back in 1973 it was a no brainer to play finals at Adelaide Oval [and Football Park soon after]

In 2016 onwards it seems that playing at suburban grounds is a realistic option

How would it work at Unley no room there
