It is only 5 or 6 that regularly call the SANFL, then there are others who call when other commitments allow it...The Hatchet wrote:great stuff in there although someone new to SANFL might think only 5 or 6 different people regularly called SANFL

it's lucky you are able to do so much SANFL to take up all the slack in that case, seems like so few call from what you say

Chris Kendall's life changed in a HUGE way this year when he and his wife welcomed twin boys into the world, so one would assume his priorities lie elsewhere and spending time with the young family is more important than calling footy...
As for Dennis 'DB' Browne, he was unable to do as many games this season compared to previous as he had comittments with his young grand-children on most weekends so he was another who was a little limited in regards to his availability...
Doug Oakley is the other person I assume you are referring to in your last statement? Doug is a seasoned veteran of SANFL broadcasting and has his own unique manner in which he calls footy. Each to their own and I guess it's important to have variety...

Au contraire, The Hatchet. I only called 19 games for RPH this year, compared to 37 last season...
Obviously no finals this year attributed to the lower number, but the station simply didn't do as many games this year...
Don Cooper was someone who got a lot more calling opportunities with RPH this year as well as with the Live Streaming, as well...
Will be interesting to see what direction the SANFL go in 2016 with broadcasting, outside of the commercial television agreement with 7...
