Re: 2015 SANFL Grand Final WWT vs West Adelaide
Was great to catch up with Lee at Richmond earlier today. The smile on the ol' chaps face is what football is all about and I can imagine it will be there for some many months to come.
I must say, I was a little disappointed with the turn out there. Granted, it is a working day, but the place was bare, I would have expected more people there enjoying the spoils of the season just finished. I guess they all went too hard last night/this morning!
Once again, couldn't think of a more deserving supporter base, they've waited a long time for this and been very patient. It's a small yet close knit club and community in Adelaide's West there, I hope they all get a boost from it.

Still don't believe it.
Great win.
Lets not make it another 32 years until we win our next one.

Congratulations West Adelaide, after 32 years it must feel sensational to break that drought. Once you got that start sorted out, we were always going to struggle.

Mate showed me a video on his phone last night of his brother at the fence post game hugging the players and pretty much crying like a baby. Whilst we all take the Mickey out of him, it's brilliant to see how much it means to some people. This bloke (like many) rocks up week in and week out, has introduced his son to it, and has been dedicated in at least all of the 20 years I've known him.

I hear 21 players were given premiership medals, along with the coach and two guys who missed during injury.
A little bird tells me a long time servant, someone very much dedicated to the club who dearly loves his role in the club was also given a premiership medallion.
Can you shed any light on this, Lee?

Couple of observations from the grand final that upset me was the west official parading a premiership t shirt before the end of the game to the crowd. Have some humility please.....
Secondly the same fellow I see is in the team premiership picture. Has any official apart from the coach been present in such a photo? I have looked through many premiership pictures of teams over the years and haven't seen an official in any of them. He may be held in high regard but players and coaches are in those photos not officials.

It was a very Emotional day for a 55yr old who Is a life long supporter and
silver member of the West Adelaide Football club.
To come from ninth in 2014 to a premiership this year is an amazing
Performance.

Thanks Booney.
All I can say is that the official involved was shocked and humbled to be given such a rare recognition.
It will be treasured forever.

I believe the official in question now rivals Aaron Keating for the fewest disposals to earn a premiership medal.

Thanks for the answer Blacky
Who was the Rory Sloane lookalike congratulating the players at the end of the game ?
Looked like he might be a junior footballer at the club ?

Didn't think much of it until I looked at some of the pictures. One picture even Rubbers looks a little like "What are you doing here?"

Congratulations to Williamstown who aggregated a massive 120 points to win a Final
Both teams scored the most points for in the 18 game Minor Round season
1797 Box Hill
1764 Williamstown
There is irony
Williamstowns coach was West Adelaides previous coach B4 Mark Mickan
Andy Collins and Mark Mickan both win a flag this season
Both have made good career moves
Part of an article from todays Advertiser by Kym Morgan
* Mickan paid tribute to former coach Andrew Collins, for putting some of the building blocks in place.
Collins coached Williamstown to a premiership on the weekend and reportedly said pre-match he was more nervous for the Bloods than his own team.*

Who got premiership medals aside from officials? I hope if they were handing out spares that Jimmy Ezard got one.

Took my dad to the game, 85 years old and said it was the best day of his life in the last 32 years! Bloody awesome.
