Round 19: North v Sturt - Saturday 29 August @ Prospect Oval
North went down to the Eagles, while Sturt crashed against Adelaide. Will North bookend their season with wins, or will Sturt finish their season with a win?

Despite it being a home match for North I think Sturt will get up this week, Sturt by 18pts.

North are woeful but Sturt have looked disinterested since they couldn't make the finals. On form you would say the double blues easily but I have a feeling North may bookend their season by winning only their first and last games.

surely North will be more desperate to win (i think) but given that on most times i've watched North, the players (not all of them) seem more interested in bickering with each other than getting to the next contest, so for that reason alone i'll tip Sturt by 17 points

I reckon a few players on both sides might be without contracts next year, unless they extract the proverbial digit and convince the selectors they're worth their oats. I know for a fact that it's the case at Sturt. Should make for an interesting game.

North to finish the season the same way they started.
North by 47 in what will be Seamus Maloney's last match as coach

All I can say is that a thorough, top to bottom review of the football department is underway. This will obviously include the senior coach, as well as other levels of coaching. Also the playing list. So far as I'm aware, no decisions have been made at this time. As to Seamus' own intentions, I have no idea. It's worth mentioning that our reserves are playing for a finals spot tomorrow and our U18s are in an elimination final, so it's not all doom and disaster. With the right decisions, I think we can turn things around.
