Re: Parallel happenings
Different subject, but still a somewhat parallel happening:
Norwood's mini-dynasty ended (or at least hit a significant road bump) this weekend by a score of
4.11 (35) to
12.7 (79).
It all started in the 2012 grand final where Norwood won their first flag in 15 years, triumphing over West Adelaide to the tune of
12.7 (79) to
3.12 (30).
Would have been 'perfect' with either one more Norwood miss today (and there were plenty) or one more West straight kick in the 2012 GF.

Re: Parallel happenings
Ha, well done...that wouldn't have occured to me as the games were played out differently.
I've got something else.
The third match in 2003 saw Gavin Colville sustain a knee injury and was out for the rest of the season. He came back the following year to poll 21 votes and finish equal 2nd in the Magarey.
In the fourth last match of the minor round in 2013, Angus Rowntree does a knee and was out for the rest if the season and only came back late last season to play Reserves.
He polled 21 votes this year and came 2nd.

Re: Parallel happenings
Actually, in Ben Warren's "From the Dugout" coach's report on norwoodfc.com.au, he's identified a parallel happening:
All of Norwood's last 3 finals defeats (2015 EF, 2011 PF, 2011 2SF) have been by exactly 44 points. And, as an unfortunate addendum, in each of them Norwood has kicked 4, 3 and 4 goals respectively.
Dugga's shown a sporadic interest in this kind of oddity in his columns. If he gets the **** from the Norwood coaching caper (because, for example, he can't persuade us to kick more goals in 2016), he could go into amateur stats.

Re: Parallel happenings
That's a first - no team has had three wins or losses in finals before by the same margin in a row.
Also, Norwoods' first finals win in between those three losses (2nd Semi 2012) was also by 44 points

In the last 22 seasons, Norwood has had finals matches decided by 44 points 8 times. The other occasion Norwood had a final decided by 44 points was the 1983 Preliminary to Sturt.
Norwood also have the other instance of being involved in the same margin in a final 9 times (with 9 being the record). What is it? 4.
