Kevin Pietersen smashed a triple century for Surrey overnight.

New England Directer of Cricket Andrew Strauss will be meeting with KP tonight to discuss his future.

Possibly an England return imminent.

before the big bash this year, i believed what we were told & that was ''KP'' was up himself, not a team player etc etc.....however watching him play & commentating at the same time & in the commentary box i think his perception (by me) is totally wrong & seems like a competitive athlete & a genuine nice person, so i hope he gets a recall & prove some poms wrong, i'll add the poms could go to ''Dizzy'' heights soon

Read that Strauss has said KP isn't in their immediate sights, but that there was no alleged ban on him being selected if he were available.

Maybe you'd call that a "not interested right now, but we'll keep your resume on file..."

Given the way KP white-anted Strauss when he was the Pommy captain I doubt that KP will get a recall anytime soon.

the word ''trust'' (both ways) was used by Strauss in an interview, KP will not be picked until after the ashes series (which means never), after this KP has left Surrey where he was playing for free & has gone to the IPL

Interesting that another England Captain (Michael Vaughan) thinks KP was treated very shabbily. One England boss says one thing to him and another says something entirely different.

You wonder why England cricket is in the toilet?

Understandable that he has gone to the IPL under the circumstances.

In my time of watching England play Test cricket , they have not had an out and out star batsman that has dominated

I  struggle to list any other English batsman since about 1970 that was any better than KP

KP
104 matches
181 innings
8181 runs
8 not outs
227 highest
47.28 average
23 tons
35 half tons

Often enough KP would self destruct , and throw away a chance to build upon bigger innings
Brilliant strike rate of 61.71 in the process
So to average 47.28, the way he batted , as quickly as he batted, means he is one of the best batters of his time , and certainly good enough to still be playing
