congratulations Chad Cornes
reading on the snouts site Chad has been inducted into the SANFL hall of fame tonight, (class of 2014) well done to him but should a player like him be inducted into the SANFL hall of fame ? as in he played mainly in a different competition, unless it is just the South Australian hall of fame !!!
well done to those past, present & future hall of fame inductees

Chad certainly never played enough games for Glenelg to warrant induction.
The AWFL stars have theirs.
SANFL should be that, SANFL legends.
The criteria should be changed, although what happens to those who have already entered the HoF

Re: congratulations Chad Cornes
Are you guys serious?
Cornes is a product of the South Australian football system, why should he be excluded because he was good enough to play at the highest level?
Basically what your suggesting is that the hall of fame that contains greats such as Barrie Robran, the Oateys, Farmer, Blight et al should share their honour only with the best of what is now a second tier competition.
The restrictions you suggest would completely devalue the Hall of Fame IMO.
FWIW according to the SANFL website the official title is actually the 'South Australian Football Hall of Fame'.

I don't have a problem with great players that have regularly performed in the state, like Primus, Cornes, Modra etc. All were stars during their time and are either homegrown products of SA or made SA their home during such time. They are all also eligible for the AFL HOF which I think to some people, means thats all they should be eligible for. I think there should be different categories for those being inducted, but their ability and service should be celebrated.

MR. Booney,
read my whole post especially the last sentence which MR. Gingernuts has clarified & with that now i have no problem whatsoever, it had nothing to do with ''anti AFL'' it had to do with what is right, given the clarification by MR. Gingernuts Chad as with other players, umpires & so forth have a right to be inducted & deservedly so, as i posted i read it on the snouts site & the heading said ''SANFL hall of fame''

It's not the SANFL Hall of Fame though, it's the South Australian Football Hall of Fame, just like the AFL manage the Australian Football Hall of Fame. And yes, WAFL and SANFL greats have been inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame.
So not really sure what your gripe is but it does seem a little misguided.
