Rugby Union State Match SA V NSW Country
this Saturday night 12/7/14 starting at 7pm the state match between the South Australian Black Falcons & NSW Country Cockatoos will be played at Gleneagles' reserve Seaton (home of the Woodville Wasps)
i'm of the understanding it is free entry, so if your doing nothing perhaps a night of Rugby Union can be put on your agenda
BLACK FALCONS TO FACE NSW COUNTRY IN ADELAIDE
the Black Falcons coach Barry Cooper is quietly confident of testing the visitors......
just found this ..............
A last minute state representative opportunity has recently arisen that South Australian Rugby Union felt compelled to grab. NSW Country were scheduled to play QLD Country in Queensland on Saturday 12th July; however QLD Country pulled out of this fixture at the last minute. This has left NSW Country in a difficult position as they had already paid the aggregation air fares to get the team to Sydney and were really keen to organise a replacement fixture.
The New South Wales Country Cockatoos will now visit Adelaide to play The Black Falcons on Saturday 12th July at Gleneagles Reserve, Seaton, 7.30pm Kick Off. Free entry for all with Woodville RUFC kindly facilitating a bar and canteen facilities.
It is envisaged that all local fixtures including Premier Grade will still go ahead on this weekend. Once your rugby day is done head to Gleneagles Reserve for what is shaping up to be a fantastic game of senior representative rugby.
The following players have been selected to represent South Australia:
Old Collegians: George Bretag-Norris, Jack Campion, Rob Smedley (capt), Tim Dawes, Chris Bartlett, Gary Mann.
Burnside: Ben Fiers, Dan Hartman, Thomas Hankey.
Onkaparinga: Marty Van Eyk, Troy Doughty, Lincoln Ormsby.
Port Adelaide: Scott Dalgleish, Arni Kane.
Brighton: Nathan Satala, Dermot O’Rourke, Henry Bradford.
Woodville: Tom Price (vc), Jare Morell, John Finnie.
Souths: Stevan Stanojevic, Ratu Bola Niumataiwalu.
Adel Uni: Bron Lett.
Head Coach: Barry Cooper
Assistant Coach: Carl Jones
Team Manager: Mark Dobson
Team Assistant: Richard Karpinski

Re: Rugby Union State Match SA V NSW Country
i think you'll find the ''mercy rule'' is invoke, while it was a ''quick notice' match & a full round was played during the day & so there was a limit of players per club, i've been informed that Collegians are that far in front of the rest it isn't funny & if a proper state team was picked there would be between 7-9 players picked from Collegians to represent the state, amazingly the appointed referee was in his second match of the year & the referees association is very miffed at this appointment
