Expecting a large Westies win and percentage will be very handy for them now. We're mentally done for the year, but we've been that way for about a month.

West wont take South lightly after their last meeting so i'd expect West to come out all guns blazing & respond to their last loss, West by 8 goals

Gotch and Hartigan are massive outs for South, 2 of the more consistent players in a dismal season for the Panthers.
An excellent opportunity for West to rest and freshen a few before the finals I would have thought.......
..please!

Westies versus South. The media will rightly give it little space and opposition supporters will correctly give it just a passing glance.
Yet it's the perfect example of what so many SANFL supporters are fighting to protect. Grassroots footy followed by some of the the most passionate supporters around. That's nothing against the passionate supporters of other clubs at all, but those few hardy souls fronting up to a cold and possibly wet City Mazda Stadium qualify as stalwarts of our competition.
I know most of the Westies' crowd. I'm always pleasantly surprised if I see anyone under 95 wearing Westies' colours that I haven't seen before. I know a fair percentage of the Panthers' crowd too. The officials, the trainers Doug and Ian and many others.
I doubt Westies are at their best right now and South are probably just seeing the season out. It won't be pretty (cue the 'flood' jokes for the thousandth time) and it will be a slog, but I and the rest of we tragics will be there to support our club, win or lose.
I salute the Panther supporters who will be there, great football people.
I'll be there too, loving it.
