Mickyj,
save your money & walk between 30 minutes to an hour everyday & you'll find within 6-8 weeks you would have lost all your weight, i know i did it when i was seeing a fitness fanatic, i know i should be doing that now but i'm just too lazy

That's kind of what Ive been doing . But with my bad knee an hour every second day was the best I could do . then with specialist appointments teeth being pulled and now an infection from the tooth removal
Hopefully I can start again Sunday !!
I've lost 26 kilos a fair few times from walking just keep putting it back on

MickyJ.. the best way to get yourself to go for a walk is to walk the short distance to your nearest bus stop, use your seniors card and go 4 or 5 bus stops, then get off the bus and walk home, as you feel better all you have to do is increase the number of bus stops, and if you get buggered out, just wait at the next stop for a bus to come along, get off at your stop and then walk the small distance to home.
Works well for me.

Hi MJ,
The good thing is that you know what you have to do to lose weight, a good next step might be to head down to your GP and ask for a referal to a Nutritionist. Its far better value than Weight Watchers for men or Jenny Craig or any of that other stuff they market on the TV. You do your weigh in, they write you up a meal plan and help you make lifestyle changes so that you keep it off.
Walking is always going to be the best excersize, but if your knee is crook, you may get some value out of doing free weights seated on a bench - bicep curls and so on. Many people are unaware that resistance weight training also helps you lose a massive amount of weight as well as putting on T Shirt muscle!

Very good point Bayman, especially if you have joint problems.
