Are you in favour or against AFL Reserves sides in the SANFL League competition?
The SANFL Stakes
No way, said the SANFL Boss!
No way, and we're standing here
Selling our soul, gain or loss
No way, said the SANFL Boss.
Well, that's how it started, but as each day passes, the odds grow stronger that we'll see 10 teams in the SANFL next year. There's been lots of statements, lots of emails, lots of comments, but not much, if any two-way communication with members.
First, a bouquet to Norwood. They've come out and said 'no way'. Full stop.
As for the other 7 clubs, they haven't yet all decided, no matter what some scribes say. The scribes are right, of course, it will happen, but due process must be followed.
North put out an email today, a finely worded email. It said they'd take everything into account before voting yes. Most, if not all, of the other clubs will follow suit. They're worried about what might happen if the Crows move to the VFL. Probably rightly so, but that's just part of it.
There's a threat to join the Amateur League. Excuse me while I have a good laugh. End of story.
Now, I'm agin it. I've been watching the SANFL for longer than just about everyone on here except for Bayman, although I thought I saw him at the 1927 Grand Final. However, it's going to happen. The reasons the AFL clubs give for needing it are nonsense, of course. Ask Melbourne if it's working.
So, if it's going to happen, what will happen? Nothing much, I'd suspect. 4,000 people won't go to watch the Crows, there may be some relevance benefits for the SANFL, a bit of extra money, some initial boycotts, then we all move on.
So, at this stage, it's 0 for and 1 against.
I'll keep the voting numbers on this thread ( and keep this thread for voting comments only, discussion on the topic should continue on the other thread ).
It should be fun to track what happens on the way to a Yes vote.
We'll give prizes for special efforts, such as the first club to ask their members, a prize for especially mealy-mouthed emails and statements and prizes for outstanding efforts.

tp, am I to take it that you are representing the South Adelaide FC telling us how you'll vote?
If not, I'll have to reluctantly take your vote as informal.
Have we started a poll yet?

No mate I am giving my opinion only,
I thought you were having a poll amongst us, seeing I was still up at this late hour I thought I would chip in, however if you put me as an informal vote, it wont upset me at all, just that you will know the way my thoughts are ATM. Which ever the outcome, I will still go and watch South each week as I have done since 1978 and a lot of times before that.

Re: The SANFL Stakes
should do a poll, Mr. Rucci keeps talking about North Adelaides' poll, perhaps he reads this site as well to get a general idea of what the supporters of all clubs think

If my vote is now formal, wouldnt that make it 1 for and 1(or 2) against.
