Re: RIP JAS
A very very sad day indeed. JAS will be sorely missed and we will probably feel our grief all over again when the 2013 season starts to swing into gear. I'm lost for any more words right now.

Re: RIP JAS
Very touching words by everyone which is a testament as to how loved and respected she was by all of here on both forums and in SA Football in general.
I'm generally pretty terrible at stuff like this and to me it probably won't sink in for a while so words are failing me somewhat at the minute.
I've just lost a great mate

She had a lot of respect for a lot of people FC - but she adored you like nothing else.
Always spoke highly of you and was so proud to call you her friend.
You made sure she had the best holiday she possibly could with 'Operation Wombat' the smile on her face the whole time she was here said it all.
Yes you've lost a great mate - a big 'virtual' hug to you

Thank you for joining and posting your thoughts about JAS Dogwatcher, we all appreciate it.Dogwatcher wrote:My first post here, but as Jas was spending her time on this site recently I thought I should express my sadness at her passing here.
RIP, Jas. A person not afraid to challenge those who choose to stir. Passionate about our sport and her club and a wonderful example of the new worlds and friendships that can be opened up by being involved in forums such as these.

Re: RIP JAS
While I never met JAS, and never really had too much to do with her, one interaction I had with her really stands out.
A couple of years ago, she was a little late in doing the live scores for a Port v Norwood game (it was the ANZAC Day night game in 2010 that pretty much kickstarted Norwood's season that year). I was posting the scores on the live scores thread at the start of the game, but got distracted doing something else, and in that time JAS had started her live scores. Quarter time comes, and I receive a PM from her apologising for taking over.

Re: RIP JAS
Going through that horrible stage after you 'lose' someone where you think they are going to call or something...
Except in this case I keep thinking my facebook chat is going to make the 'popping' sound and say 'message from Jackie'.
And then that horrible realisation that nope - not going to happen.
Starting to sink in more and more.

Re: RIP JAS
It is actually a very sad moment in the recent history of the SANFL. I think most of you know the remarkable story of Jackie and how she came to be a passionate but graceful Redleg fan. From that to playing a big role in the online community by providing live scores despite living in an unfriendly time zone will be sorely missed, along with her friendly nature.
Well before I finally had the pleasure of meeting her during Operation Wombat last year, I kind of felt she was more than just a friend - more like a relation you had never met before.
Another thing I admired her for was to stand up for her views; I know there are a few people on another site who will testify to that, whether they liked them or not.
Finally, I must say that in retrospect, I am glad that Norwood won the flag this year - the icing on the cake for a gal from Scotland whose unlikely journey to be a supporter of the premier South Australian Australian Rules competition.
Farewell and keep on celebrating that flag, Jackie

Re: RIP JAS
Today would have been Jas birthday.
I am sure she is still watching her Redlegs and getting a thrill with them winning, if fact she might have been invovled in 'Rumble in the Tunnel". She was so passionate about her team.
Happy Birthday Jas
The forum and football is a lesser one without her here.

Thought about you that whole SANFL Grand Final JAS!
There you go - another premiership - I'm sure you were supporting from above with just as much vigour as normal !!
Actually maybe more so given you guys played North

12 months since JAS left us - still think about her often - I'm sure that wherever she is, she's still making everyone laugh with that awesome sense of humour she had.
