I'll predict a double century to Smith, and an injury to Ponting.

But will it take him 3 days to get it? I hope they get a wriggle on with their batting.

Is the test live on tv in Adelaide considering the first 3 days are already sold out?

Aussies going berzerk today and scoring at 5.5 an over.
Must be entertaining for the crowd.

What a scoreboard Day one
5/482
Warner 119
Cowan 10
Quiney 0
Ponting 4
Clarke not out 224
Hussey 103
86.5 overs
I must admit I wrote off Mr Cricket on an English Tour not so long ago
It was when an illustrious poster once called Mike Hussey , Mr Snicket , a rather apt and accurate description at the time I had agreed with
I was wrong, and Mike has batted brilliantly for a guy his age
I reckon seeing sportsman canvassed by detractors and then seeing them perform well is often the best part of watching cricket
Was not that long ago the media , forums, press were at Michael Clarkes throat after his insipid performances in an Australian Ashes series in Australia
I had thought that he was performing OK for a middle order batsman , despite that lean series, and have always thought he was an exceptional talent
To see Clarke batting like this is as satisfying as seeing any cricketer denounce his detractors
Since he has become captain and got a new woman, he has risen to the occasion ...

Did anyone predict a pair to Quiney? If not, why not?

on the Adelaide oval i wouldn't think a 'number 11' would get a pair
batting 3, average 3 but will not make test number 3

If I live to be 100, I'll never understand this neurotic compulsion Test captains have for sending in night watchmen. The tactic would have at least 95% (if not higher) failure rate over the past 40 years, but captains STILL think it's a great idea.
